Second Surface is a collaborative exhibition featuring works by Sarah Abbott, Candace Jahn, Kelly McGovern, Lauren Seiffert, Jessie Spiess Werner, and Rachel Wolf, that explores tactility, texture, and layering within photography. This exhibition brings together six multi-disciplinary artists from around the country who expand the possibilities of photography beyond the flat image. Each artist engages the medium as both subject and material, combining it with sculpture, collage, digital space, bookbinding, and other tactile practices. Through manipulation of the photographic plane, they invite viewers to see photographs as objects that can be cut, folded, built, and reimagined.
