Jennifer Pritchard

Jennifer Pritchard is a photographic artist, writer, and visual storyteller based in Laguna Beach, California. Her work explores memory, time, perception, sound, and the shifting boundaries between presence and absence through photography and the written word.

Before fully turning to her artistic practice, Pritchard spent decades as a creative fashion executive, leading global brands and developing narrative-driven consumer experiences. The intersection of strategy, human connection, and storytelling continues to inform her work today.

Following the death of her father in 2015, Pritchard began using the camera as a way to navigate grief, mortality, and consciousness. What emerged was an ongoing exploration of duality—inner and outer landscapes, clarity and obscurity, presence and disappearance, the seen and the sensed. Her work often moves between representation and abstraction, integrating image, text, and sound to engage more deeply with the complexity of human experience and the natural world.

Her practice is interdisciplinary and process-oriented, rooted in curiosity and sustained observation. Through image and language, she is interested in what lingers just beyond comprehension: the afterimage, the partial transmission, the resonance that remains after sound has faded. This integration of sound and perception was recognized in her inclusion in the Top 200 of PhotoLucida’s Critical Mass.

Pritchard is a participating artist in the national traveling exhibition Memory Is a Verb: Time and Transience and was honored by the American Photographic Artists National Organization as an emerging artist. Her work is held in the collection of On Center Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

She also serves as Board President of the Los Angeles Center of Photography, where she advocates for photography as a sustainable cultural and civic practice capable of deepening attention, fostering connection, and helping people engage more meaningfully with one another and the world around them.
