Heart, 2020
This image is from Forgive/Forgiven, a photo series dedicated to my mother. My mother and the ocean will forever be intertwined in my heart, pulling me towards Oregon’s coastline like the moon draws the tides. Along with the ocean’s waves, I see her in the life-giving trees and plants she taught me to love, and in the sound that the wind makes as it rustles through them. Their visible alterations with the seasons remind me that change is inevitable, and that this, right now, is temporary.
