Inspired by the work of Ansel Adams I took up photography as an avocation in the early 1970‘s. Totally self-taught, I started with a 35mm SLR camera and over the years I progressively changed to larger format cameras.  Now I strictly shoot, either 4x5 or 5x7  inch.  Adams inspired me to take up photography and I initially shot strictly scenes from nature,  but the strongest influence on my work has been the works of Edward Weston, Imogen Cunningham and Ruth Bernhard.  Like those photographers I believe that almost anything has the potential for a great photograph if viewed properly.
