Eyes Front
I am a street photographer based near Seattle. Much of my imagery is the result of random, unplanned moments encountered while exploring on foot. I look for the interplay of light and shadow, gesture, juxtaposition and interesting faces in creating my compositions. Most of my work is presented in black and white because monochrome strips away all distractions and leave the essence of the image.
Eyes Front combines the stare-like and neutral gaze of the young woman watching a musician perform at Pike Place Market in Seattle with the partial neon sign and the word “Front” in the frame. Hence the image title. I put myself directly opposite her to capture composition.
