Internal Conflict
Alyson Bowen is a Portland artist, originally from a state of eternal sunshine, who made the move west in search of the unfamiliar. Personal discovery and discomfort, social issues, and internal and external conflict often construct the basis of her work. These themes have
played a large part in her endeavors throughout the Pacific Northwest.
‘Internal Conflict’ was created in response to the death of a loved one who lived a long, fruitful life. The use of multiple exposures and cross processing on film feeds into the desire for tangibility during moments of uncertainty.
